Happy national day... the feelings is no longer the same. Everything seems so different from the past. With all those new policies, foreigners and blablabla, it is just diluting our singapore culture. Nowadays you can see foreigners almost everywhere and you will question yourself whether you are in overseas? ... or singapore...

I remember in the past where many things are still singapore-ish.

Singlish is the common language among singaporean, but now some of your friends dun understand what you are talking about when you are speak singlish.

Everything is rising...
In the past, when you went to Macdonald for a meal, your friends will say " wa you so rich ah? go buy macs " but now...? " wa, you buy mac so budget."? Now macdonalds is like one of the cheapest food around and is filling. Last time, a plate of chicken rice cost around $2, now $3-$5+???!! Like what the hell?
COE : where a piece of paper is like more expensive than a car???O.O

NDPs song was so much better in the past, you can literally feel the pride for being a singaporean, now...? LOL, last year song was so crap until they dun dare to make a new one this year.

Another thing is the singapore education system.
I have to admit singapore has one of the best education system around, BUT it is just too rigid. Everyone expect you to become a lawyer, doctor, engineer, businessman, teacher. But what about those talented in arts but not in academics? they are just push one side by the society. There are just limited platform for them to succeed in life. But smart in academics is just like a good photocopier machine where you just excelled in the theories and "photocopy" into your exams scripts. will you ever get a chance to apply those theories in your life? Not really...
Why are we singaporeans fighting a place in universities, scholarships and jobs with all those foreigners? and they will just leave and return to their countries after getting all those benefits, when we suffered by losing all those opportunities to the foreigners and still stay in singapore??

Dun get me wrong, i do love singapore. With all those clean environment, good security, blablabla. Singapore is a good place to live in, ONLY IF you are rich. I love the country but not the system that run it. I love the things in singapore but not the prices to get it. I understand the government wants to remain competitive on the international level, but they will need to first settle the problems internally and make its citizens happy...

PS: Bring me back to the 1990s and the early 2000s...
